A little quote that I want to remember everyday...

If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly.

Baby Shower

Thanks Heather and Tiffany for throwing me such a wonderful baby shower last weekend! I had a really good time seeing all my friends, enjoying yummy food, painting and getting many cute baby gifts!

Everyone painted a little wood cutout butterfly, dragonfly or bee in pink and brown.

I just assembled the mobile of the wood cutouts yesterday and it turned out perfect! I was so lucky to find the metal mobile at a store in Kirkland. And the little painted bugs are so personal.

Me and Toni (friend from college who flew out here from Utah just for my shower!)

Everyone's string was too long except Erin's whose was perfect. I guess it pays off to have just had a baby 2 months ago!

Hand sewn gifts from my step-mom Gail. The blocks with Brooke's initials and rattles inside are adorable! She also sewed a big hooded towel, burp cloths, swaddles, wash cloths and lined the inside of the bassinet! I love all of it!!

Hand crocheted blanket from Gail's friend Kat.

Hand sewn blanket from Toni! She also made really cute baby shoes and burp cloths!! I was so lucky to receive so many hand made items. All of the other gifts were great too!
