A little quote that I want to remember everyday...

If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly.

Wedding summary

It took me a while to upload all the wedding photos last night that I didn't spend much time writing about the wedding, so here goes.

By Thursday evening all the family had arrived - 8 adults and 1 kid, in addition to me and Jason. So we had 11 of us in the house all weekend...although my dad and Gail slept in their trailer which helped!

On Friday we were all going to head down to Seattle but it just seemed too complicated with so many people and wedding errands to run. So just my parents and Gail's parents headed down there to pick up the rental plates, and flowers and seafood from Pike's Place. The rest of us "the kids" hung around the house and enjoyed the nice weather outside.

As mentioned in the rehearsal post, we enjoyed a crab-pot dinner complete with mussels, clams, crab legs, shrimp, corn on the cob and potatoes...yum!

Saturday was filled with getting ready although with so many helpers and Gail's wedding experience (she's a florist) it went smooth. The guys even helped out with folding the napkins. :-)We were hoping to have dinner outside but Saturday morning was a little cool so we decided it would be safer to have it inside.

By 5pm (ceremony time) it was really warm! But we're still glad we had dinner inside. The ceremony included Cassie reading an Apache Wedding Blessing. After a few words by the officiate we all individually added flowers to the flower arrangement as a symbol of our blossoming family. After the vows Jack perfectly brought the ring pillow to my dad. As you can see from the pictures the ceremony ended with all of us showering the wedding couple with rose petals (of which Gail's mom plucked from roses).

My good friend Tiffany so graciously took the pictures all evening! She did a wonderful job. The officiate is my co-worker's husband who was great. And Lisa the chef we just found online but I would highly recommend her!

The hor dourvers were waiting for us once we finished with group photos and then we headed into dinner. It was truly an amazing experience to have a private chef (and her parents were helping cook and serve) in your own house. Jason and I both felt like we were eating at a fancy restaurant. They were so professional, timely, friendly and the food was awesome! It was so fun to have so many courses. In between many of the courses were toasts from almost everyone! They were all so heartfelt and personal...truly a wonderful experience. Gail's dad even sang a love song he had written to his wife of 60+ years. There were many tears during dinner...

After dinner we changed into jeans to enjoy a little time around the camp fire in my backyard. Then we headed in for some cheesecake and to watch a precious video slide show Emily had made with pictures of the family.

~~We couldn't have asked for a more perfect wedding.~~
