If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly.

Hackman Christmas Party

We enjoyed a wonderful day with my side of the family in Iowa. The Christmas parties are always packed with aunts, uncles, cousins, and this year many new boyfriends and girlfriends...well so it seemed since it's been over 4 years since I've been to Iowa - far too long. I think there were about 75 people at this year's party. We had a fun gift exchange in which we got a knitted quilt from Grandma!
